I won't go into great detail about the idiotic 4th and 2 play from the Pats. I'm sure it has been covered by analysts and other bloggers and I don't want to run that story in the ground, much like ESPN does when covering Brett Favre in the offseason, I just want to thank Belicheck for being an arrogant ass. I'm definately not buying that the whole team supported his decision. I can think of 11 guys who play defense for the Pats who probably didn't like being disrespected like that. I wonder how this will play out the rest of the year for the Pats? Will the offense and defense start questioning his decisions now? Do people realize just how stupid this was? It was 4th down and 2 yards to go.... ON NEW ENGLANDS 27 yard line!!! There was 2 minutes left to go in the game and here's the kicker......THEY ARE WINNING THE GAME BY 6 POINTS!!!! I've seen people in that same situation while playing Madden and they punt the ball..... and thats a video game! That whole last drive has to be hard to swallow for Pats fans. It started out terrible by burning a timeout after the kickoff before even running a first down play. The Colts certainly didn't deserve to win that game, but they took advantage of the situation they were given. I also love how Pats fans are saying they can't wait to play the Colts in the playoffs....really? Your coach is so scared of Peyton he'd rather go for it on 4th and 2 on your own 27 yard line, than give Manning the ball back with 2 mins left and 65-70 yards to go. Belicheck doesn't want to play the Colts again. He's scared of Indy and Peyton now. The Pats used to own the Colts, but now Indy has won 5 out of the last 6 and tonight they came back from 17 down in the 4th quarter and stole that one away from New England.....don't tell me that the Pats want to meet the Colts again down the road, that's almost as dumb as going for it on 4th and 2. (I lied, I coudn't help but talk about that idiotic play)
For those who know me well, they will tell you that I'm a diehard Notre Dame football fan. I love Notre Dame football. I root/cheer for that team more than any other sports team that I follow. Their wins and losses impact my mood, which is rediculous, but that's what happens when you take sports a bit too serious. With that said, I want Charlie Weiss out of South Bend. I used to be one of the biggest Weiss supporters, always saying "give him his time", "let him get his recruits in", well I'm tired of making excuses. When I see teams like Standford who have been able to turn their program around in 3 years, it starts making you question what's going on with ND's program. Why is it taking them so long to be competing with the top teams? Why haven't they beat a ranked team in 4 years? Why have they lost to USC for like a decade straight? They have the talent. Clausen is a solid college QB and he has plenty of weapons at his disposal. I've heard some analysts say ND has the best pair of WR's in the country with Michael Floyd and Golden Tate. So why can't they win? WHy can't they compete with the top 12 teams in the country? Why have they lost to Navy the last 2 out of 3 years, AT HOME??? I'm beyond frustrated as a ND fan. I'm tired of being laughed at by college football fans. People have ZERO respect for a program that was once considered one of the most elite programs in the country. I'm tired of hearing other ND fans make excuses for the program. I'm tired of losing. I want a coach that gets more out of his players, has them better prepared for big games, someone who the team can look at to lead them. I don't think Charlie Weiss is the answer anymore for ND football. We need a change and we need it yesterday. The talent is there, we just need someone who can mold the talent into something special. I'm tired of being average. Notre Dame is better than that.
I'll prolly make another podcast a little bit later this week and talk about some of the topics I had for future podcasts. I've been doing some research and found some programs to use to help me record some telephone calls for the podcasts. Of course, I wouldn't do this illegally, I would get permission first from the party that I was calling. I'm wanting to call some people on the podcast and have a little discussion with them and these programs will help with that process greatly. Really excited about it and can't wait to get things running. After listening to my "first podcast" I think it'd be ideal if I invested in a desktop microphone. You can find some pretty cheap and it'd be nice to cut out all that background noise I had in my first podcast. Still thinking about a song or jingle to play at the beginning of my recordings.....any ideas would be appreciative. If you had to pick a song that reminded you of me, what would it be??
Once I get the tools and equipment for my podcasts, I'm contemplating on making a facebook page for it. Might be able to attract some more people to listen to me talk about gibberish and undoubtedly listening to me giggling. I don't mind blogging, but I think I'd have more fun doing podcasts. I think I'd compare blogging to getting a handjob. It takes a lot of work to get the finish you desire. All the typing, spell checking, making sure you're using correct grammar, I mean you have to work pretty hard to get it done. Meanwhile podcasting is like getting a blowjob. You don't have to work that hard to record a podcast. You don't have to think about typing a word correctly, you say it. You don't have to worry about punctuation, you just stop talking when you have nothing else to say. It doesn't take as long and its more enjoyable. (just like a bj)
Thanks for reading my rant about ND....I'll check back in later this week. Have a great week!!
